Importance of Clean Prescription Glasses

Prescription glasses must be used very carefully. This is because most of us who use these types of glasses, use them to perform even the easiest and simplest things in life. Prescription glasses are really delicate and expensive too. From this, we understand the importance of maintaining the glasses with keen interest and also the importance of cleaning them on a daily basis. This has to be done correctly and regularly, because no one would like to destroy or mess up such an important thing in life. Just wiping or rubbing them against your dress is not enough to maintain them. There are certain things that all of us must be careful about while cleaning  prescription glasses. All these tasks done, can help us to keep our glasses in good condition as long as we intend to.

Please do not attempt to clean your prescription glasses in a dry manner. Even though you are using a clean tissue, paper towel or a soft handkerchief, cleaning them in a dry manner will do more harm than good for sure. So always clean your glasses with some sort of cleaning agents like warm soapy water. You can also use some lens cleaners for cleaning up the lens. Actually, they are the best cleaning agents, when compared to others, and they can be easily obtained from the optic centers. The problem with dry cleaning is that if there are any dust particles on your glasses, and you attempt to clean them up dry, using a tissue or towel, then this dust can definitely cause scratches on your lenses. You may think this scratch to be nothing but a line that is not much visible. But seriously this can cause serious impacts on your vision. Then the situation becomes this way that you wear highly expensive and good quality prescription glasses, but because of the scratch that has occurred in some vital part of the lens, your glasses may prove useless.

You can also clean your glasses by simply just keeping them below the flowing water of a tap, and cleaning them with your hands, by gently rubbing some soap on them. Then, carefully wash off all the soap and dry the glasses by patting them. It is even not advisable to rub them using any towel or tissue to dry them, because any dirt part that is present can cause a scratch on them.  Care must also be taken to clean up the frames of your prescription glasses other than the lenses. This may not directly affect your vision, but at times it may cause some or the other sort of difficulties. You can either clean them up in the same manner as that of lenses, or you can even take them up to an optician who can obviously help you. They clean up the lenses using a machine which is suitable for cleaning any sort of prescription glass frames.
