If the eyeglasses fit

Shopping for eyeglasses is no easy task.  After finally deciding upon the color and style that you want, you have to make sure that the fit is not tight or uncomfortable.  Here are a few things to think about when you are in the market for new eyeglasses

Width

The easiest way to know how wide your eyeglasses are is to measure a pair of eyeglasses that you already wear.  Then if you are shopping for eyeglases on line, you can look at the spec of the eyeglasses that you like and verify that they are the pair for you, or if not, be glad that you didn’t waste money on something that doesn’t fit you.

Height

While shopping for eyeglasses, you should think about the lenses that you will be getting.  Depending on the shape of your face, and personal preferences, the height will impact how you look with the eyeglasses.  So study the specs when you are shopping for eyeglasses on line.

Buying eyeglasses on line isn’t intimidating at all.  At glassescrafter.com all of the measurements are listed so that you can make an informed decision.  Take a look at the extensive selection of designer eyeglasses at very affordable prices.

It’s all in the fit

Even though designer eyeglasses make you feel like a million bucks, if they don’t fit, you can’t make them.  You have to choose your eyeglasses the same way that you choose your clothes.  However, you already know about the choosing eyeglasses that make you look your best.  Here are a few tips that should verify that your eyeglasses fit well.

Your brows are in line

The top of the eyeglass frame should be symmetrical with your eyebrows.  If they are not in line, then go to your nearest vision facility, and the optician should be able to line them up for you.  It’s a common courtesy that is offered by many optical businesses, so don’t worry.  You’ll be taken care of.

Eyes in the center

Your pupil should appear in the middle of your eyeglasses.  That’s the sign of a pair of glasses that fit well.  If you need them adjusted, simply go to your nearest optician.  They’ll take care of you, and you’ll look better in your eyeglasses.  It’s a win-win situation.

Comfort is key

A well made pair of eyeglasses will not feel uncomfortable.  If you feel that your eyeglasses are tugging at you or pinching you, then they don’t fit.  Go to your nearest optical center, and ask them to adjust them for you.  You’ll be glad you did, and your favorite pair of glasses will feel much better on you.

Check all of the eyeglasses that you own for fit, and you’ll feel good that you did.  Visit glassescrafter.com to check out the selection of designer frames at very affordable prices.  Your eyes will thank you for highlighting them.

Transition v. Reactolite Lenses

Transition lenses are actually just a brand of Photochromic lenses. Currently they are the most advanced ones on the market, but there are others. Some major pros about using these types of lenses is that they are clear but react with UV and produce a tinted effect based on how much UV is present. The idea behind these “smart lenses” is to use the correct amount of protection for your eyes all day without the inconvenience of switching between corrective glasses or sunglasses. The only real con with these glasses is the same of many glasses. These lenses are a little hazy behind a car windshield. Also, they will slide off your nose; they leave a mark, and take a couple of minutes to turn back to clear when coming inside. When weighing the options, none of these cons are that big of a deal and it’s a great trade off for constantly protected eyes!

Reactolite lenses are just a brand name of glass Photochromic lenses. They are similar to transition lenses in that they do the same job. Some main differences between the two are that reactolite lenses are much heavier and slightly more uncomfortable. The upside to transition lenses is that they are much clearer to see through behind the wheel of a car.

Most people prefer transition lenses but you’ll never know if you don’t try! Photochromic lenses are practical and can save you from having to buy a pair of clear glasses and sunglasses. Like I mentioned earlier, I definitely think the trade off for constant protection of your eyes is worth it!
