If the eyeglasses fit

Shopping for eyeglasses is no easy task.  After finally deciding upon the color and style that you want, you have to make sure that the fit is not tight or uncomfortable.  Here are a few things to think about when you are in the market for new eyeglasses

Width

The easiest way to know how wide your eyeglasses are is to measure a pair of eyeglasses that you already wear.  Then if you are shopping for eyeglases on line, you can look at the spec of the eyeglasses that you like and verify that they are the pair for you, or if not, be glad that you didn’t waste money on something that doesn’t fit you.

Height

While shopping for eyeglasses, you should think about the lenses that you will be getting.  Depending on the shape of your face, and personal preferences, the height will impact how you look with the eyeglasses.  So study the specs when you are shopping for eyeglasses on line.

Buying eyeglasses on line isn’t intimidating at all.  At glassescrafter.com all of the measurements are listed so that you can make an informed decision.  Take a look at the extensive selection of designer eyeglasses at very affordable prices.

The Different Types of Glasses Lenses

Polycarbonate Lenses

Polycarbonate lenses are the best lenses for most people.  They are perfect for people who are involved in sporting activities or for children who easily scratch their glasses.  They also protect your eyes from ultraviolet rays.

Trivex Lenses

Trivex lenses are very similar to polycarbonate lenses.  They are made from a form of plastic but are lightweight and thin. Studies have shown that trivex lenses may help correct vision better than the polycarbonate lenses in some people.

High Index Plastic Lenses

High index plastic lenses were made for people who need a very strong prescription. However, these lenses aren’t bulky but rather very light and thin.

Aspheric Lenses

Aspheric lenses are much thinner and flatter than other lenses.  This is because of the process and method that aspheric lenses go through.  Because of this the eyeglass lens has a much larger usuable portion than its standard counterparts.

Photochromic Lenses

Photochromic lenses  can either be made from plastic or glass.  They are capable of changing to tinted lenses when exposed to sunlight.  Tada! Two in one! No longer is it necessary to buy prescription sunglasses.  However, the only downside is that the lenses may not be able to darken in the car because of the windshield.

Polarized Lenses

Polarized lenses help reduce glare from light reflected from water or flat surfaces.  This is ideal for anyone who plays sports or has to drive often.  However, the downside to these lenses is that they may cause the display on the dashboard to appear invisible.
