Your eyes at work

Your eyes do a lot for you.  They keep you out of danger, and they help you in all aspects of your life.  At work, you probably spend a lot of time looking at a computer screen.  Here are some general tips for keeping your eyes healthy on the job.

Be ergonomic

When you are on the computer, make sure that your eyes are on the same level as the screen you are looking at.  Positioning the screen higher than eye level will cause your neck to strain, which after extended periods of time, will cause you pain.

Lights

When you are working on a computer, make sure that you have all the light that you need.  Working in the dark on a computer is not good for your eyes in the long run.  Take care of your eyes, and your eyes will thank you.

Take a break

Constantly staring at a computer screen puts a strain on your eyes.  Take your eyes off the screen after a long session, to readjust your eyes.  Don’t forget to blink.  If your eyes feel dry, lubricate with eye drops as needed.

You demand a lot of your eyes.  The least you could do is to keep them happy and healthy.  There’s no reason not to have fashionable designer glasses in the process.  Glassescrafter.com has all the designer eyeglasses you desire, at the prices your wallet will love.  View the selection and prepare to be amazed.

Extending the life of your glasses

Glasses are an investment.  They can help you look better, they help you see better, which would increase your chances of earning, and keep your eyes healthy without invasive surgery.  So, for all that glasses do for you, it’s in your best interest to look after them.  It doesn’t take much to care for glasses, so here’s a short list.

Start with a wet surface

Do not start cleaning your glasses without spraying them with glass cleaner, or rinsing them under water.  If you do, you run the risk of scratching your glasses.  And it’s never cute to have scratches on your glasses.  Just don’t do it.

Cloth, not tissue

Tissue disintegrates, and makes it harder to clean.  So just use a cloth that you specifically use for glasses.  If you can avoid it, don’t use your clothes.  They usually have dirt embedded, so you’re defeating the purpose.

Don’t throw your glasses around

Glasses help you see.  So just like you don’t throw valuables around, don’t treat your glasses carelessly.  You’ll be glad you cared for your glasses after being ablet to tell your friends that you’ve had them more than 2 years.

Designer glasses are now affordable, but even so, they deserve TLC, just like all the other valuables you own.  Take a look at glassescrafter.com to see all the new affordable styles .

Glasses v. Contacts

In today’s “vision correcting” market, it’s nearly impossible to make up your mind with so many options. The decision used to be “what kind of frames do I get?” or “what color should I pick?” but now there are millions of different glasses and nearly just as many varieties in contacts.

The Pros of Glasses – If you’re not one apt to change, glasses are probably right for you. The traditional approach to correcting your vision can be a great one. There’s no mess in taking them on or off and you can carry them with you anywhere, without hassle. If you’re squeamish about touching your eyes or they become dry frequently, glasses will also be a good friend to you. Wearing glasses has many stigmas associated with it as well. I’m sure you definitely know the stereotype of smarter people wearing glasses but now with so many different designs, any personality can shine through. The selection of unique and fun frames can brighten up your face and accentuate your features or the simple and sophisticated look can give you that brainy feel. Whatever your personality, you can show it off with style and have the advantage of being able to see!

The Cons of Glasses – Glasses may sometimes obscure your vision. For people with naturally horrendous eyesight (like myself), while wearing glasses I have absolutely no peripheral vision. Wearing glasses can be a huge inconvenience when playing sports or engaging in any rambunctious activities. Another problem that I have encountered is that my glasses constantly slide down the bridge of my nose and when it’s raining/snowing/hailing/sleeting they’re useless. Something silly that I have also found with glasses is that drinking that hot cup of coffee in the morning will fog up the lenses so be careful of that!

The Pros of Contacts – If you’re interested in the up and coming and like trying new things, contacts may be quite helpful. If you’re also tired of all the glasses cons I mentioned, maybe it’s time to give contacts a try! Personally, I love contacts. I don’t really ever feel them and it’s just like being able to see well with your own eyes. Since the contact is right on your actually eyeball, it’s much easier to play sports or go out partying and not have to worry about breaking your glasses or losing them. Also, if you like your eyes and don’t want to hide them behind glasses frames, this is a good alternative. They won’t be hanging around your nose and no one will even know you have a vision problem.

The Cons of Contacts – As much as I love these guys, they definitely are not perfect. I mentioned earlier that you don’t have to worry about breaking or losing them in the glasses sense, but contacts can rip or sometimes fall out. They also easily irritate your eyes and if you leave them in too long will turn your eyes a lovely shade of red. Your eyes get dry quickly and you have to solution to clean them or change them out. Depending on if you have bi-weekly or monthly lenses, you also have to remember to dispose of them and put fresh ones in as according to your prescription. Taking care of them can be a hassle as well. You always have to bring an extra pair in the event that something happens to them and a bottle of solution and a case. Your eye care always has to be on your mind when planning to sleep elsewhere. Sometimes lenses can also scratch your cornea, so be careful with overusing them!

These are both the pros and cons of glasses v contacts. I definitely prefer contacts, but hey, what works for me may not work for you! Give both a try and see how you feel. Good luck with your eye care choices and whatever you decide, at least you’ll be able to see clearly!

There are various types of Glasses Frames which are available in the market. The selection of Glasses Frames vary from one person to the other. Normally Glasses Frames are chosen after taking the shape, size and skin tone of a person’s face into consideration.  When you visit an optometry store you keep looking for those Glasses Frames that suite you perfectly. Glasses Frames come in various shapes, sizes and color that are made from different materials; steel, carbon fiber, titanium, plastics and even rubber. You are spoilt for choice to select the best one that suits you and makes you look your best.

Glasses Frames vary in price range from one to the other and there are some things which you should remember before selecting the right one. You should know that your personal features should have a definitive role to play in the selection of the frame. For example if a person has a pair of beautiful blue eyes, the Glasses frames can match with the eye color or be completely contrasting to highlight the eye color.

The frame that you choose should be compatible with the dimension of your face. You would surely want to look good after wearing the frame and if your face shape does not go with it, it will look very odd indeed. Not only the shape of your face, the size should also be compatible with the frame.

The experts would usually recommend some standard shapes that suite certain face types. Let’s take a look at some of them and make sure you know what to look for the next time you walk into a store to buy glasses frames.

If you have a round face you should look at the angular frames which portray a narrow shape. The narrow shape of the glasses will help you get a balanced look making your face look proportional.  You can happily wear the frames and look good.

According to optometrists, an oval shaped face is surely one of the perfect face shapes to have. If your face is oval, you have a world of choice to choose from as most of the frames will be compatible with your profile. But the best glass frame for an oval shaped face should be walnut shaped. They are neither very narrow nor deep in proportion.

If you have a triangular face with its base down and you want the perfect glass frame just wait a moment. You can opt for frame styles which have a rimless appearance and you will surely look good with them.

Hope some of these tips will help you pick that perfect frame for yourself and make you look better with glasses than without.
